How ofter it is passed, it remains something special, as is the Lorelei in the Rhine.

Description: I'm unable to leave this one out, this young lady had just presented H.M. The Queen with a bouquet outside the Liverpool Maritime Museum during her tour of North West England as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations. It summed up the day for a lot of people.

Description: H.M. The Queen onboard the converted World War 11 DUCK. During this phase I noticed a rather alarming list to port, the reason for which might, in my jaundiced view, have been caused by those opposite Her Majesty but, that's just my view of course. Her Majesty of course, remained stoic throughout, but it must have been tedious staring at a stone wall.

Description: Nice name - nice looking modern tug, not one of ours so must be chartered in whilst a regular has a drydocking, she is acting as stern tug on the small inbound tanker Elbetank Italy - 18th May 2012. Appologies for the rubbish image it really was pretty dark - my camera always lightens it , will try for a better image if I see her on the river. Description: A Great Lakes canal sized package freighter completed in 1907 by the Sunderland Shipbuilding Company for Dunelm Ltd., Hamilton Ontario. Managed by R. O. & A. B. Mackay, in 1908 she was transferred to their Inland Navigation Company. The company name was changed to Inland Lines Ltd. when James Playfair gained control of the company in 1910. With a cargo of grain from the Canadian Lakehead, in Lake Superior, on her last voyage of the season, bound for Kingston, Ontario, she grounded in a blinding snowstorm on Isle Royale's Canoe Rocks on December 4, 1910. She was abandoned to the underwriters but was later salvaged and towed to Port Arthur, Ontario for repairs. Repurchased by her previous owners, Inland Lines. Inland became a component of Canada Steamship Lines, Montreal on its formation in 1913. Requisitioned in 1915 for World War I service, she disapeared on her second ocean crossing. Leaving Sydney, Nova Scotia on October 15, 1915 with a cargo of steel products, bound for Manchester, she was last sighted passing Cape Race two days later. 20 men were lost and no trace of the ship was ever found. 2,319GT, 250' 43', 3exp, single screw.
